'Laalo' creates history at Cannes: First Gujarati film to reach the global stage; Makers say ‘Nothing but gratitude, dreams, and our cinema’

'Laalo - Krishna Sada Sahaayate' has achieved a major breakthrough for regional Indian cinema. The film has become the first Gujarati movie to gain a showcase at the Cannes Film Festival. Its presence at one of the world’s most respected film festivals is being celebrated as a defining moment for the Gujarati film industry.

'Laalo' makers share an emotional message

The film’s team marked the occasion on Instagram with a group photograph. The cast and crew were seen dressed in elegant black-and-white formal wear as they posed together at Cannes. Alongside the picture, the makers wrote, "Walking through Cannes with nothing but gratitude, dreams, and our cinema.
