Dharmesh Vyas: When the films are getting released on OTT, they should also be considered for subsidy

Dharmesh Vyas is a well-renowned personality in the entertainment industry. He has given his notable performances in films like 'Pass Na Pass', 'Order Order Out Of Order', 'Gujjubhai The Great' to name a few. From portraying negative roles to playing a cop, the star has impressed all the moviegoers with his performances. Vyas had worked on back-to-back films which will release soon in near future. ETimes reached out to Dharmesh to know more about his upcoming film releases and the current state of the Gujarati entertainment industry during the pandemic.Talking about the current scenario of the entertainment industry, Dharmesh explained, "In these testing times, due to worsened situation shootings in Mumbai and Gujarat are completely at a halt. Seriously, everyone is in deep trouble. We are trying to help as many as possible but it's been a long run now. The point is, our Gujarati entertainment industry is the first industry to shut in this situation and the last one to open. The small level people are troubled in this situation. I have five films that are yet to be released and all are postponed due to this pandemic. Just like last year, this year too we are sitting at home. I urge the government to think and make some decisions for our industry. Packages have been declared for everyone except our industry. We have too much self-respect to even ask. We just want our work to start. One more request, now when the films are getting released on OTT, they should also be considered for subsidy. All the best to the people for whatever they are pursuing. This time is to be very patient. Take care of yourself. I am very confident very soon this shall pass too. Theatre shall open and we will be able to live life again."Sharing about his upcoming projects, Dharmesh Vyas added, "There is a film we are working on with a wonderful and focused Director Viral Shah. We are waiting for the location to be finalized. It is a beautiful script and we are planning to start the shoot at a safe location after finalizing."
