CBFC slashes 8 minutes of bold scenes from Sydney Sweeney’s ‘The Housemaid’ ahead of India release - Report
Actress Sydney Sweeney has been making rounds online for her performance in her latest film, ‘The Housemaid.’ Starring alongside ‘Mamma Mia’ star Amanda Seyfried, the psychological thriller has been gaining a lot of traction. Though the film has already been released internationally, it hit theatres in India on January 1. According to the latest reports, however, approximately 8 minutes of the film have been cut out by the CBFC.
While curse words and questionable language have already been removed or censored from the film, it was some of Sweeney’s scenes that faced the axe. The film was originally meant to run for 2 hours, 11 minutes, and 46 seconds; however, after the cuts as well as the inclusion of the anti-smoking ads, the film’s run time changed to 2 hours, 5 minutes, and 46 seconds.
Reportedly, the majority of the scenes involving Sydney Sweeney’s lovemaking scenes, as well as another scene where Amanda Seyfried’s character uses a breast pump, have all been removed from the film.
