Bollywood fans tuning in to catch the latest season of 'Stranger Things' have had a lot to say about the show. While some have been vocal about their criticism, others have been having a field day taking shots at the series and more. Bollywood fans have found an unexpected point of comparison in the final season, with a particular scene featuring Vecna being linked to a sequence from Om Raut’s 2023 mythological epic 'Adipurush'.'Stranger Things' vs 'Adipurush'The scene in question shows Vecna capturing Holly as she attempts to escape and make her way home. Vecna not only gets a hold of her, but also puts her to sleep, while lifting her into the air and walking on as she floats behind him.
Fans react to 'Stranger Things'Shortly after the episode aired, Indian fans took to social media to point out what they described as a visual parallel with 'Adipurush'. In Raut’s film, Saif Ali Khan’s Ravana is seen abducting Kriti Sanon’s Sita in a similar fashion and walking away while she floats in the air. The resemblance sparked jokes on socail media with fans claiming that the 'Stranger Things' moment was “inspired” or “copied” from the Bollywood film.
“Visionary Om Raut,” one fan tweeted sarcastically. Another wrote, “I was literally wondering where I had seen this scene before while watching the episode in @NetflixIndia. When #StrangerThings5 copied #Bollywood. Turn the Upside Down right side up, and Vecna becomes Ravana.”Several viewers also used the moment to criticise the final season for the handling of its main antagonist. One user remarked, “Man, a bollywood villain goes down with more fight than Vecna. The mind is a strange place indeed.”Previously, netizens began comparing the series to the horror film 'Maa' starring Kajol in the lead. Some claimed that the villain in the film was oddly similar to Vecna.
