Ranajoy Bhattacharjee releases reprise version of Shaatjawnmer Porichoy

As winter brings quieter evenings and reflective moods, Shaatjawnmer Porichoy returns in a fresh reprise version by singer-composer Ranajoy Bhattacharjee. The song, written by filmmaker-lyricist Srijit Mukherji, has long resonated with listeners for its poetic sensitivity and emotional depth, and was originally featured in the film Killbill Society. The earlier film rendition by Durnibar Saha, along with another popular version by Abhijeet Bhattacharya, earned wide appreciation from audiences.

Speaking about the renewed interpretation, Ranajoy said the enduring love for the composition inspired the team to revisit the track while preserving its emotional essence. “Listeners kept talking about the melody and the way Srijit beautifully penned the lyrics. That affection encouraged us to present another version that feels new, yet retains the warmth and soul of the original,” he shared.
On the creative process behind the reprise, he explained that the arrangement blends familiarity with subtle musical changes to offer a refreshed listening experience. A new music video has also been created, built around a simple yet evocative narrative designed to leave a lasting impression.
