The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has released the Phase 2 call letter for the Grade A (Assistant Manager) recruitment examination. Candidates who have qualified for Phase 2 can now download their admit card from the official website at sebi.gov.in.
Applicants are advised to download the call letter as soon as possible and carefully check all the details mentioned on it.
The Phase 2 online examination is being conducted for the post of Officer Grade ‘A’ (Assistant Manager) in the following streams: General, Legal, Information Technology, Research, Official Language, Engineering (Electrical), Engineering (Civil).
The Phase 2 online examination consists of two papers.
Paper 1 (Common for all streams)
Paper 2 (Stream-Specific)

Information Technology Stream
Research Stream
Official Language Stream

The Phase 2 online examination consists of two papers.
Paper 1 (Common for all streams)
- English (Descriptive Test) to check drafting skills
- Essay – 30 marks
- Precis – 30 marks
- Comprehension – 40 marks
- Total Questions: 3
- Maximum Marks: 100
- Duration: 60 minutes
- Cut-off: 30%
- Weightage: 1/3rd
Paper 2 (Stream-Specific)
- Paper 2 will be different for each stream. Details are given below:
- 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Subjects include Commerce, Accountancy, Management, Finance, Costing, Companies Act and Economics
- Maximum Marks: 100
- Duration: 90 minutes
- Cut-off: 40%
- Weightage: 2/3rd
Legal Stream
- Stream-specific questions (MCQs): 70 questions (70 marks) – 60 minutes
- 3 descriptive questions (10 marks each) – 60 minutes
- Total Marks: 100
- Cut-off: 40%
- Weightage: 2/3rd
Information Technology Stream
- 100 MCQs
- Mix of logic flow completion, debugging, syntax understanding, program dry run, output and data analysis
- Maximum Marks: 100
- Duration: 180 minutes
- Cut-off: 40%
- Weightage: 2/3rd
Research Stream
- Total Marks: 100
- Duration: 120 minutes
- Cut-off: 40%
- Section A: 2 descriptive questions out of 4 (25 marks each)
- Section B: 2 questions out of 4 (12.5 marks each)
- Section C: 1 question out of 3 (25 marks)
- Focus areas include Economics, Financial Markets and Statistics
Official Language Stream
- 8 descriptive questions
- Maximum Marks: 100
- Duration: 90 minutes
- Cut-off: 40%
- Includes translation (Hindi to English and English to Hindi), précis writing, legal/technical translation and sentence correction
Engineering Stream (Electrical and Civil)
- 50 MCQs
- Maximum Marks: 100
- Duration: 40 minutes
- Cut-off: 40%
- Weightage: 2/3rd
Important instructions for candidates
- Paper 1 (English Descriptive Test) will be conducted in online mode. Candidates must type answers using the keyboard.
- Paper 2 for General, Engineering, and Legal (Objective Type) will have only multiple-choice questions.
- There will be negative marking of 1/4th marks for every wrong answer in objective papers.
- In the Legal stream descriptive paper, answers must be typed using a keyboard.
- Candidates applying for two streams will have to appear for both Paper 2 exams on the same day.
- After completing the exam, candidates must move out of the examination hall/lab in an orderly manner.
- To qualify for Phase 2, candidates must secure separate cut-offs in each paper and also obtain minimum aggregate marks as prescribed by SEBI.

- Enter your registration number and password/date of birth
- Download and print the admit card
