Tribals rally against Maoists in Visakhapatnam
A large number of people from Bongaram in Pedabayalu mandal to Boitili in G Madugula mandal in Visakha tribal area, strong areas of naxals, carried out a rally and gave slogans against Reds
VISAKHAPATNAM: Tribals in Visakha agency area carried out a rally against CPI Maoists and urged them not to obstruct any development work in the interior villages such as roads and cell towers construction. A large number of people from Bongaram in Pedabayalu mandal to Boitili in G Madugula mandal in Visakha tribal area, strong areas of naxals, carried out a rally and gave slogans against Reds. They asked the naxals not to obstruct any development work in the tribal areas. They said that they would welcome development works and get them done at any cost. Around 800 tribals participated in the rally and requested the Maoists to cooperate for the development of tribal areas. They even said that they are getting pensions and other welfare schemes of the government through the village volunteers system. “We need development in villages and for that we need road facility, communication networks. We are requesting naxals to cooperate and do not disturb the development works,” said a tribal participated in the rally.
