Tirupati: Andhra Pradesh governor S Abdul Nazeer remarked that the role of universities would be pivotal for achieving the Vikasit Bharat 2047 mission. Taking part in the convocation ceremonies of four combined academic years, 2020-2024, at Yogi Vemana University, organised at DSR Paradise Function Hall in Kadapa on Friday, the AP governor stated that higher education institutions are responsible for nurturing leadership and economic equity through value-based education.
YVU vice-chancellor Bellamkonda Rajasekhar highlighted the university's rapid growth and noted that, despite being a 2 decades old institution, YVU secured an 'A' Grade from NAAC and gained global recognition for its high-end research. He also noted the university's social commitment, including the adoption of 131 villages by the NSS unit for rural development.
Around 11,664 students, including 1,194 postgraduates and 70 PhD scholars, received their degrees during the event.
Abdul Nazeer congratulated the graduates, describing their achievement as a "triumph of knowledge and perseverance", and urged them to use their skills to contribute to the nation's progress and environmental protection.
