Baghdad: Mourners Chant ‘Death To America’ At Funeral For Anti-US PMF Fighters

Hundreds gathered in Baghdad to mourn members of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces killed in airstrikes in Anbar province. Mourners carried PMF flags and posters of Iran’s new supreme leader Mujtaba Khamenei while chanting anti-America and anti-Israel slogans. Iraqi officials condemned the strikes as a violation of national sovereignty and an attack on Iraq’s dignity. According to PMF statements, nine fighters were killed and ten others injured in the strikes targeting bases in Anbar and Kirkuk. The funeral procession quickly turned into a display of political anger as tensions across the Middle East continue to intensify.
