Vijayawada: Woman teacher booked on acid attack charge; investigation rules out assault
Vijayawada: Bhavanipuram police booked a woman teacher at a private school in the Vidyadharapuram area following allegations that she assaulted a 4-year-old girl student. In her complaint, the victim's mother alleged that the teacher attacked her daughter with acid and demanded around Rs 20 lakh as compensation from the school management, police said. However, during the investigation, police found that the child, who has an intellectual disability (ID), accidentally came into contact with phenyl and soap-oil bottles while playing in the school bathroom on Feb 23. As a result, she developed a skin infection. The child was treated at a private hospital, and the entire medical expenses were borne by the school management. Police said the investigation found no evidence to support the allegation that the teacher attacked the child with acid.
