Tirupati: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) took serious note of Bigg Boss fame Thanuja Puttuswamy and Divvala Madhuri indulging in a birthday bash by cutting a birthday cake at Tirumala on Thursday and posting it on various social media platforms for publicity. Celebrating birthdays by cutting a cake is strictly prohibited at Tirumala, and as Thanuja Puttuswamy and Divvala Madhuri violated the temple shrine conventions, TTD formally lodged a police complaint against the duo on Friday.
TTD authorities made it clear that all devotees can come and seek blessings of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala on their birthday and other important personal occasions, but cutting a cake and indulging in a birthday bash at Tirumala is strictly prohibited.

Thursday's incident involving Thanuja Puttuswamy and Divvala Madhuri once again exposed the chinks in the TTD's security screening systems at the Alipiri checkpoint.
The TTD vigilance dept ordered an internal enquiry as questions were asked about how a birthday cake could sneak through to Tirumala despite stringent security screening protocols in place at the Alipiri tollgate, which is jointly manned by the TTD vigilance dept and the Special Protection Force (SPF) personnel.
