Naidu slams YSRCP govt over misusing land laws, revenue ‘chaos’
Vijayawada: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday launched a scathing attack on the previous YSRCP govt, accusing it of pushing the revenue department into chaos and misusing land laws to target farmers. He said the former regime arbitrarily placed 1.95 crore acres under section 22A and attempted to grab private lands through the Land Titling Act.
Naidu said his govt scrapped the Act immediately after assuming office and is now issuing error-free pattas using QR codes and blockchain-based safeguards. "Not a single rupee is taken for new passbooks," he said, adding that faulty records in 19.93 lakh books issued earlier are being replaced.
Targeting the previous administration, he alleged large-scale corruption in the excise department, adulteration of ghee used for Tirumala laddus, and the rise of factional violence across Rayalaseema. He said his govt restored peace by reconciling rival groups and is carrying out a clean-up across departments.
Highlighting irrigation works, Naidu said Handri-Neeva, Galeru-Nagari, SRBC and Telugu Ganga—initiated by N T Rama Rao—were completed during his tenure, enabling water supply to 30 tanks in Dhone. He said Rayalaseema will be developed into a horticulture hub with subsidies for mango growers and improved access to national and international markets.
Naidu said major investments are coming into the state, including a Drone City in Kurnool and an Aerospace City in Anantapur. He reiterated that power tariffs will not be increased, and that essential public services are being delivered through WhatsApp. The govt facilitated one lakh women entrepreneurs under MSMEs and is planning to encourage five lakh more women.
He said the coalition govt, formed with the mandate to restore the state's past glory, is focused on public welfare and correcting the administrative distortions of the previous regime.
