Lokesh reviews AU centenary celebration arrangements
Visakhapatnam: Education and IT minister Nara Lokesh said the past glory of Andhra University would be restored and it would be developed into a global centre of excellence.During a review meeting on the conduct of the centenary celebrations of AU with vice-chancellor Prof GP Rajasekhar on Saturday, Lokesh directed officials to make all necessary arrangements to conduct the centenary celebrations in a grand manner. He instructed that from March 26 to April 26, efforts should be made to reconnect with the alumni and involve them actively in the centenary celebrations.

"The grand history of Andhra University should be reflected throughout the celebrations, and all necessary measures must be taken to achieve this. Committees should work in coordination, and priority must be given to media publicity. Programs related to arts, music, and literature should be organised with the participation of current students, and their opinions should also be considered. Seminars on various subjects should be organised with eminent personalities," said Lokesh.The vice-chancellor explained the agenda for the centenary foundation day on April 26, along with several development works to be undertaken at the university. He said affiliated colleges would also be involved in the celebrations. Local public representatives offered several suggestions and said everyone associated with the university should be made part of the centenary celebrations. They noted that this is a wonderful opportunity and should be utilized effectively to create strong visibility.
