Vijayawada: Tourism minister Kandula Durgesh announced that the Kondapalli Toys Festival will be organised officially every year from April 18 to 20, and revealed plans to develop Kondapalli into an international-standard "Experience Centre," where visitors can observe the toy-making process firsthand. In addition, a dedicated tourism circuit linking nearby attractions is being planned to boost visitor footfall.
Participating in the closing celebrations of the three-day Kondapalli Toys Festival on Monday, Durgesh said that Kondapalli toys, known for their distinctive craftsmanship and use of natural materials, would be positioned as a global cultural brand. He emphasised that the State govt is committed to preserving the heritage art and ensuring its continuity for future generations.
Highlighting the govt's broader tourism strategy, Durgesh said the sector, which declined over the past five years, is now being revived under the leadership of chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and deputy chief minister K Pawan Kalyan. He noted that multiple festivals across the State are being organised round the year to sustain tourism activity.
