Vijayawada: Taking serious note of corruption allegations against Kakinada urban drug inspector Sheikh Parveen Sultana, health minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav on Friday directed the officials concerned to suspend the drug inspector with immediate notice.
According to an official release, the health minister ordered immediate action against the drug inspector after receiving complaints from several medical shop owners, who alleged that the official demanded regular payments from them. The shop owners reportedly claimed that she threatened to conduct inspections and file cases against them if they failed to comply with her demands.

In this regard, the health minister, after a meeting with drugs control department officials, directed them to place the officer under suspension and instructed them to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the matter.
On the occasion, Satya Kumar Yadav stated that the govt would not tolerate corruption in any form and warned that strict action would be taken against those found involved in corrupt practices.
