Former MP Kanakamedala is new Additional Solicitor General in Supreme Court
VIJAYAWADA: Former Rajya Sabha member and senior advocate Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar was appointed as an additional solicitor general (ASG) in the Supreme Court. The Centre appointed Ravindra Kumar as ASG after receiving a green signal from the Cabinet Committee on Appointments. Ravindra Kumar served as a Rajya Sabha member as a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) nominee from 2018 to 2024. Ravindra Kumar was a key legal aide to chief minister Chandrababu Naidu for the past several years. He will serve as an ASG for three years. A native of Avanigadda in Krishna district, Ravindra Kumar completed his law degree from AC College of Law in Guntur. He served as Andhra Pradesh’s advocate in the Supreme Court for several years while TDP was at the helm in the undivided state. He also worked as TDP’s legal cell President before becoming a Rajya Sabha member.
