Burglars strike 2 houses in North Andhra, decamp with gold and silver
Visakhapatnam: Burglars struck houses in parts of north Andhra Pradesh and decamped with more than 400 gms of gold ornaments and 1,500 gms of silver ornaments in two separate incidents.In the first incident, the miscreants struck the locked house of B Sujatha and fled with around 330 gms of gold and 1.5 kgs of silver ornaments at Govada, under Chodavaram police station limits in Anakapalle district, on Saturday night.

The police said Sujatha is a staff nurse in Vizag, and she left her home on Saturday. Taking advantage of no one being at home, the miscreants easily entered the old house and stole the gold and silver ornaments. The police suspect that a local gang or someone known to Sujatha's family might have been involved in the property offence. A case was registered, and a special team was formed to solve the case.In another incident, the burglars struck the house of a retired bank employee, NVS Rao, at Rushikonda locality under PM Palem police station limits in Vizag and made off with around 80 gms of gold ornaments. The police said the miscreants entered the flat when the inmates were asleep by removing the window grills, and stole the gold ornaments that were kept in the wardrobe in the room. A case was registered, and the investigation is on to nab the accused.
