APSRTC to run free bus services for class X students during public exams

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has announced free bus travel for students appearing for the SSC Class X public examinations 2026 to ensure they reach their examination centres without inconvenience.A total of 6.42 lakh students scheduled to appear for public examinations from March 16 to April 1 will be allowed to travel free of cost upon producing their hall tickets. The facility will be available on Palle Velugu, Ultra Palle Velugu, and City Ordinary bus services.The RTC said the free bus travel was provided to students only on examination dates and that the facility will remain in force even if a govt or general holiday falls on the examination date.Authorities further instructed staff not to insist on bus passes from students during the examination period. To prevent any inconvenience to students, APSRTC officials were also directed to coordinate with district education authorities and operate additional buses wherever required to meet demand.
