AP govt filled 9,000 health posts in 20 months, says minister Satya Kumar
Vijayawada: Health minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav on Friday said that the NDA coalition govt filled around 9,000 posts in the medical and health department in the last 20 months, resulting in an annual financial burden of about Rs 350 crore on the govt. The health minister said that the 9,000 posts included 2,000 doctors, 5,800 paramedical staff, and 1,200 ASHA workers. On average, around 450 posts were filled every month.Satya Kumar Yadav on Friday distributed appointment letters to 74 doctors selected to work in Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) clinics set up at Community Health Centres (CHCs) and Area Hospitals, at a programme held at Dr NTR University of Health Sciences.

Addressing the doctors, Satya Kumar Yadav expressed concern over the rising number of NCDs due to changing lifestyles and stated that the govt is focusing on predictive and preventive healthcare measures, while screening tests are being conducted under NCD 4.0 to identify oral, breast, and cervical cancers across the state.
