Process to conserve peepal tree on KVT campus commences
Varanasi: Administration of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham initiated a special operation for the conservation of ancient peepal tree on its premises. With an objective of keeping the sacred tree safe, a treatment process combining scientific and traditional methods commenced on Wednesday. The work was undertaken by experts, including Prof S P Singh, Prashant, Kalyan Barman, Om Prakash, and Tejnath Verma. A mix of medicines along with neem oil was prepared and sprayed on the tree. The process was conducted out using organic methods. About 1,200 litres of Gangajal and Triveni water were included in the treatment, ensuring special attention to sanctity and purity. Regarding current condition of the tree, Prashant said its leaves had turned completely yellow, a clear sign of chlorosis and nutrient deficiency.

The difference between normal leaves and this tree's leaves was visible, reflecting traditional symptoms of nutrient deficiency. If treatment is not done timely, serious problems may arise in the future. Regular spraying will continue at periodic intervals, so that this ancient peepal tree remains a centre of reverence and faith for future generations as well. tnn
