Varanasi: Halia police in Mirzapur district on Thursday arrested a 24-year-old man for posting objectionable videos of a woman on social media after she refused to convert to his religion.
Mirzapur SP Aparna Rajat Kaushik said the complainant reported that Bablu Mustafa was pressuring his married sister to convert to his religion and when she refused to bow under pressure he posted an objectionable video of the woman on social media. Based on the complaint, a case was lodged under sections 352 (intentional insult), 351(3) (criminal intimidation) of BNS, section of IT Act and Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act and started investigation.
After collecting evidence, police team raided Bablu’s possible hideouts and on a tip-off by informers, arrested him near Adwa Bandha and sent him to jail after producing him before court.
