Varanasi: Governor
Anandiben Patel and chief minister
Yogi Adityanath watched the live broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi performing the ‘mahapuja’ at the Somnath Temple in Gujarat.
Soon after arriving at the Police Line helipad in the morning, both leaders proceeded to the Kashi Vishwanath Dham, where they offered prayers and performed rituals amid Vedic chants. They later reached Tryambakeshwar Hall, where schoolgirls welcomed them by blowing conch shells and reciting mantras.
A replica of the Somnath temple, prepared by Banaras Hindu University students, was also installed there as a ‘Parthiv Jyotirling’.
