Vadodara shines in CA results with four All India Rankers

Vadodara: Four students from the city secured All India Ranks (AIR) as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) declared the results of the CA Foundation and Intermediate examinations held in Jan on Sunday.Nityaa Joshi secured AIR 12 in the CA Foundation examination. In the CA Intermediate examination, three students from Vadodara — Drashti Gandhi (AIR 21), Rehankhan Pathan (AIR 26) and Amaan Tinwala (AIR 44) — figured among the top 50 rank holders. All four students are pursuing BCom at MSU.In the CA Foundation examination, 1,264 students from Vadodara appeared, of whom 296 cleared the test, recording a pass percentage of 23.42%.Joshi emerged as the city topper with 347 out of 400 marks. Anisha Rajpurohit secured the second rank in the city with 332 marks, while Mohammadsiddik Bombaywala stood third with 329 marks. At the national level, the overall pass percentage in CA Foundation stood at 19.23%, with 20.13% of male candidates and 18.26% of female candidates clearing the examination.In the CA Intermediate examination, 1,331 students from the Vadodara branch appeared, of whom 251 passed, taking the overall pass percentage to 18.86%.Among the 519 candidates who appeared for both groups, 74 cleared both groups, registering a 14.26% pass percentage. Meanwhile, 37 candidates cleared Group I (7.13%) and 16 cleared Group II (3.08%).Among candidates appearing for a single group, 573 students appeared for Group I, of whom 78 passed, resulting in a 13.61% pass percentage. Similarly, 239 candidates appeared for Group II, with 46 clearing the exam, translating to a 19.25% pass rate.According to ICAI data, the all-India pass percentages in the Intermediate examination stood at 13.96% for Group I, 15.54% for Group II, and 9.39% for candidates who appeared for both groups.
