VADODARA: Union minister of state for agriculture Parshottam Rupala felicitated teachers working for the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) schools here on the occasion of Teachers' Day. The event is held every year by the primary education committee of the VMC.
Speaking on the occasion, Rupala said that education should not suffer because of issues like the Pay Commission or other facilities even as he believed that teachers should be paid equal to civil servants. He asked the teachers to establish a dialogue with parents to ensure that education was not always weighed in marks to avoid situations like students committing suicides due to weak results.
During his visit to the city, Rupala also attended a ‘tiffin meeting’ of the city unit of the Bharatiya Janta Party. At such meetings, BJP members bring food from home and discuss various issues.
