18-year-old drowns in Dahod dam

Vadodara: An 18-year-old youth drowned in a dam in Dahod district on Tuesday morning while bathing with friends, police said.The deceased, identified as Vishwaskumar Baria, had gone to the Tandi Machhan dam along with his friends. He reportedly entered the water for a bath when he suddenly began drowning, possibly after stepping into a depression or slipping due to the uneven dam bed.His friends raised an alarm, following which villagers from nearby Tandi rushed to the spot and informed the police and fire brigade.After a search operation lasting around four hours, the youth's body was recovered from the dam in the afternoon.
