Karur: The Karur town police have registered a case against two cadres of the TVK, including Karur central west town secretary Saravanan, for alleged violations during a party public meeting held on Wednesday.
Police said the party organised a public meeting on 80 Feet Road on Wednesday in which party senior members Nanjil Sampath and Rajamohan participated. Police said the generator used to supply power at the venue was handled negligently, posing a potential risk to public safety. In addition, a large number of flex banners were put up in and around the meeting area without the approval from civic and police authorities. Police booked cases under Section 289 of BNS, and The Tamil Nadu Open Places (prevention of disfigurement) Act.
