Pudukottai: The Goondas Act was slapped on two men in connection with the abduction and gangrape of a 35-year-old speech and visually impaired woman in Pudukkottai district. They were shifted to Trichy Central prison on Wednesday.The accused were S Marimuthu, 55, and A Sekar, 55. While Marimuthu was arrested shortly after the incident, police secured Sekar following a search. The district police imposed the preventive detention law on them owing to the gravity of the offence and concerns over public order.The survivour, a daily-wage labourer employed at a private rice mill near Alangudi, was abducted in a car while waiting for a bus at Pachchikottai. The accused forced her into the vehicle and sexually assaulted her before abandoning her near Manakkollai village. She was found by local residents and shifted to a govt hospital by police.
