Trichy: Trichy district collector on Saturday held a review meeting with officials from public sector oil companies and various govt departments, to dicuss the current status of LPG stocks within the district. The district administration said the public must not refill their cooking gas cylinders at private gas filling stations, as doing so is a violation of govt regulations and carries a high risk of accidents.
Public is strictly prohibited from hoarding cooking gas cylinders or selling them in the black market, the administration said.
"Any violation of these rules will result in legal action being taken in accordance with govt regulations. Complaints regarding such matters may be reported to the civil supplies criminal investigation department (CSCID), Trichy unit, at the following office numbers: 9443461010, 9498190651, and 9498158550. Public need not panic over reports circulating on social media regarding a shortage of gas cylinders. For any complaints or inquiries related to gas supply, public may contact the control room at the district collector's office via telephone number 0431-2411474 during office hours," the release said.
