PM Modi Rolls Out Mega ₹18,680 Crore Road, Rail And Port Projects In West Bengal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a series of road, rail and port infrastructure projects worth ₹18,680 crore during his visit to West Bengal. The key highlight was the foundation stone for several sections of the 231-km four-lane Kharagpur–Moregram economic corridor, aimed at improving connectivity and cutting travel distance by nearly 120 km. The Prime Minister also flagged off the Purulia–Anand Vihar Terminal Express and inaugurated six redeveloped railway stations under the Amrit Station Scheme. In addition, multiple highway upgrades, railway modernisation works and port infrastructure projects at Haldia Dock Complex and Kolkata were unveiled. The projects are expected to enhance logistics efficiency, boost regional connectivity, support tourism and drive economic growth across several districts of the state.
