Shanmugha polytechnic celebrates sports festival

Thanjavur: The 42nd anniversary and sports festival at Shanmugha Polytechnic College, Thanjavur, was celebrated at the college on Thursday. Principal R Chandramouli read the college annual report. Dean, School of Mechanical Engineering, SASTRA Deemed University, Dr S Pugazhenthi, was special guest. Pugazhenthi told the students they should prepare themselves by learning technologies and work with their basic principles, and understand situations at the workplace. He distributed certificates and trophies to the students who won various competitions including sports, and secured places in various subjects. The best outgoing student award was bagged by R Gokul of Civil department, R Vishal of Mechanical department, S Nithishkumar of Automobile department, and R Sasivadhani of Electrical and Electronics department. R D Aravindha, II-year student of Mechanical department, received a championship trophy in athletics.
