Trichy: The Anna Science Centre-Planetarium, Trichy, will conduct a sky observation programme for children between 6.30pm and 8.30pm on Saturday. Public and children can witness planets — Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune — through dedicated gadgets and telescopes available at the planetarium on Trichy-Pudukottai highway near the Trichy international airport. The centre's staff will assist visitors.
The planetarium management, however, cautioned that bad weather conditions on Saturday evening may disrupt the visibility of planets either partially or completely. "The objective is to share scientific information about celestial bodies and their characteristics. But only clear sky conditions can help people observe properly," said R Ahilan, project director of the planetarium.
