No party wants Vijaya Baskar: Regupathy
Pudukottai: DMK MLA and former minister S Regupathy on Thursday hit out at former AIADMK minister C Vijaya Baskar, claiming that no major political party is willing to accommodate him and he has been left politically isolated.
Regupathy told reporters in Pudukottai that DMK president M K Stalin would never admit the Viralimalai MLA into the party. “Vijayabaskar has been sidelined by both AIADMK and TVK, and is now left all alone like an orphan in politics,” he said. The remarks come amid reports that the former AIADMK minister is in two minds whether to continue in AIADMK or jumping ship to TVK.
Regupathy dismissed Vijay’s recent speech in Trichy as ‘cinematic performance’ that failed to address key issues facing the state. He accused the CM of ignoring concerns about Mekedatu dam project and farmers’ protests over crop loan waiver announcements.
He said incidents of murder, robbery and crimes against women had increased, while the govt had failed to curb sale of illegal lottery and tackle substance abuse. Regupathy also accused the actor-turned-politician of deliberately avoiding attack on the BJP.
