Two injured as tree falls on car, bike

Trichy: Two people were injured after a tree came crashing down on a moving car and a motorcycle in Trichy due to strong gusty winds on Wednesday. The incident occurred on Royal Road around 4.30pm. The car’s bonnet and windshield were damaged.The motorcyclist and one of the two passengers in the car sustained injuries. People nearby quickly rescued them and rushed them to hospital for treatment. Traffic was affected for around 30 minutes. A seven-member team of firefighters from Cantonment Fire and Rescue Services station cut the tree using hacksaws and cleared the debris.
