Trichy: The international ferry service between India's Nagapattinam and Sri Lanka's Kankesanthurai resumed on Friday after four months.
On the morning of first day, 71 passengers departed in Sivagangai ferry from Nagapattinam to Kankesanthurai. In the afternoon, 92 passengers departed from Kankesanthurai to Nagapattinam.

The ferry service will continue on all days except Tuesdays and those with adverse weather conditions. Additionally, a new ferry is expected to arrive at Nagapattinam port on Monday.
The Sivagangai passenger ferry operated by Subham Ferry, a part of Subham Group had been operating six days a week from Nagapattinam Port to Kankesanthurai harbour in Sri Lanka. Due to seasonal weather changes, the service was temporarily suspended in Nov 2025.
