Gold stolen from disabled couple’s house in Trichy

Trichy: Miscreants have broken into the house of a differently-abled elderly couple near the Trichy airport and stolen two sovereigns of gold ornaments. The couple were not in the house when the incident took place.Police said K Karthikeyan, 62, and his wife live in a rented house in Anna Nagar. Karthikeyan is physically disabled while the wife is visually impaired. They visited a bank in KK Nagar on Wednesday afternoon.When they returned an hour later, they found that their locker in the house was forced open and gold ornaments in it were missing. They then found that the locks in the rear entrance were also broken.Based on Karthikeyan's complaint, the airport police registered a case under sections 331(3) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) on Thursday and are investigating.
