Bank manager held for sexually assaulting girl, 11

Pudukottai: A 33-year old private bank manager was arrested on Monday for repeatedly sexually assaulting a 11-year-old girl in Pudukottai on the promise of marriage. Police said the accused, S Dinesh, was remanded while cases have been registered against three others including the survivor's mother.The woman allegedly facilitated the sexual assault by permitting the accused to remain alone with her daughter. The incident came to light after Pudukottai DCPO conducted an inquiry based on a tip from locals, after which the officer lodged a complaint with Keeranur AWPS. The complaint said the minor had been subjected to sexual assault on multiple occasions on the promises of marriage. Keeranur AWPS has booked all four accused under various sections of Pocso act & its amendment act.
