Army sepoy from Meghalaya dies in Siachen, CM salutes his bravery

Shillong: Army Sepoy Aibok Madur from Ri-Bhoi district died in the line of duty in the Siachen glaciers on Nov 7. The social media handle of Firefury Corps said, “The GOC, Fire and Fury Corps and all ranks salute Sep Aibok Madur, 10 Assam Regiment, and offer deep condolences to the bereaved family in this hour of grief,” reports Manosh Das.
Saluting his bravery, CM Conrad K Sangma said, “His selfless act of valour will never be forgotten.Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, and we stand in solidarity with them during this immense hour of grief.” The CM also announced that the state govt will provide an ex gratia of Rs 20 lakh to the next of kin of the sepoy.
