Speaking on the Uttar Pradesh Assembly by-elections, Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav expressed gratitude to voters, saying, "I want to thank everyone who cast their vote despite the challenging conditions under which these by-elections were held. I still believe we can secure victory on four seats."

Addressing the results in Maharashtra and Jharkhand polls, she remarked, "The outcome in Maharashtra is not what we anticipated. There is a need for introspection to understand why such results have emerged. Parties in Maharashtra will undoubtedly reflect on this."

As vote counting continues for the Uttar Pradesh by-elections, Tej Pratap Singh Yadav, Samajwadi Party candidate from the Karhal Assembly seat, expressed confidence in a significant win despite alleged misuse of power.

“The administration constantly harassed our workers and people, yet they stood firm and contested strongly. We are optimistic about winning with a good margin,” said Yadav.

Referring to polling day incidents, he added, “Videos of the elections went viral, showing how police worked in Mirapur and Kundarki on behalf of the BJP. Everyone has seen and knows it. Despite these challenges, we anticipate victory with a good number of votes.”

Union minister Giriraj Singh praised the BJP-led NDA's overwhelming success in the Maharashtra elections, where the alliance secured a two-thirds majority. "The people have rejected Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar. The BJP's strike rate is around 87%, and we have won over 60% of the seats in Maharashtra," Singh stated while addressing the media in Begusarai.

Highlighting the BJP's performance across states, Singh remarked, "Congress is trailing in the bypolls in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. This reflects the people's discontent with their governance."

He also briefly addressed the election results in Jharkhand, saying, "We accept the results there," without elaborating further.

The minister emphasised that the results in Maharashtra reaffirmed public support for the BJP's policies and leadership.

Samajwadi Party (SP) candidates are leading in key constituencies in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly bypolls. Tej Pratap Yadav is ahead in Karhal by 23,655 votes, while Naseem Solanki holds a 14,536-vote lead in Sisamau. Shobwati Verma also has a narrow 2,929-vote margin in Katehari.

In contrast, the BJP remains dominant in other regions, holding significant leads in Phulpur, Ghaziabad, Majhawan, and Khair. The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), previously an SP ally, has shifted alliances to the BJP-led NDA and is leading in Meerapur.

The Congress, a key partner in the INDIA Bloc, chose not to contest these bypolls, extending support to the SP. Meanwhile, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) contested all nine seats, with the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) also fielding candidates in selected constituencies.

The Congress supported the SP in the bypolls but did not contest. The BSP and AIMIM fielded candidates across multiple constituencies, while the Azad Samaj Party participated in eight of the nine contests.

Samajwadi Party MP Awdesh Prashad criticised the BJP, claiming the by-elections were a battle between democracy and dictatorship. He alleged that BJP used state machinery to manipulate the polls.

“This is the first election after independence where it was democracy versus dictatorship,” Prashad stated. He accused the BJP of crossing all democratic limits by using police and government officials to influence the results.

"We received information that officials were threatened with suspension if the BJP did not win the seat," he added.

As vote counting for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly by-elections progresses, deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya criticised the Samajwadi Party's PDA formula, calling it the "Parivar Development Agency."

Maurya said, "Akhilesh Yadav's PDA formula is a fraud. It stands for 'Parivar Development Agency.' Their true intentions have been exposed to the people. The lies and deceit they spread during the Lok Sabha elections won't work anymore. The Samajwadi Party is on its way to becoming the 'Samaptwadi Party.'"

UP Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak expressed confidence in the BJP’s performance in the Assembly by-elections, predicting victory on eight out of nine seats in Uttar Pradesh. "We have given tough competition to the Samajwadi Party. They are in a better position in one seat due to more voters from their community," he said.

In Meerapur, Mithlesh Pal of RLD is leading by 6535 votes, she has secured 9369 votes in two round. Total there are 24 rounds.

"14 tables have been set for counting of EVMs, conducting scanning of postal ballots is being done on three seats as everything is electronically transmitted. Counting agents, election agents and candidates are present everywhere. Counting of votes started on time and is underway in a transparent manner," says Mainpuri DM Anjani Kumar Singh on counting of votes in Karhal.

In the Meerapur assembly constituency of Uttar Pradesh, the latest vote count shows Mithlesh Pal of the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leading with 4,253 votes.

He is followed by Sumbul Rana of the Samajwadi Party (SP) with 1,698 votes, Zahid Hussain of the Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) trailing with 1,531 votes, Mohd Arshad of the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) at 504 votes, and Shahnazar of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) with just 95 votes.
