Wanted criminal carrying Rs 50k bounty gunned down in Chatra

Hazaribag police fatally shot Uttam Yadav, a wanted criminal with a Rs 50,000 bounty, in Bagra village, Chatra district. Yadav, involved in a Hazaribag jewelry store robbery, opened fire on the police when intercepted while riding a bike. Police returned fire, and Yadav died upon arrival at the hospital after sustaining chest and thigh injuries.

Hazaribag: A police team from Hazaribag gunned down Uttam Yadav, a wanted criminal who carried a bounty of Rs 50,000 on his head, at Bagra village under Simaria police station limits in Chatra district on Saturday evening. In his thirties, Yadav, who was behind firing at a jewellery store in Hazaribag on June 22, was on a bike. “When intercepted, he opened fire from a pistol. The police team returned fire. Yadav sustained injuries in his chest and thighs and was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival,” Hazaribag SP Anjani Anjan said. According to police officials, Yadav suffered injuries and when the police took him to a hospital, doctors declared him dead on arrival. Yadav recently released a video threatening coal traders and businessmen in Chatra and Hazaribag districts for extortion money.
