RJD Launches Voter Awareness Drive for Special Intensive Revision in Ranchi
Ranchi: RJD state president Sanjay Singh Yadav on Sunday stated that his party directed its district presidents to carry out an awareness drive on special intensive revision (SIR) in their districts so that eligible voters are not left out during the process.Speaking to media persons after his party’s state executive committee meeting, he said that even though the party is against SIR, a lackadaisical approach by people towards the exercise may lead to the removal of his or her name from the voter list. Yadav said that eligible voters should not be left out.

Senior party leader Subhas Prasad Yadav said, “SIR is an attempt by BJP to deprive people of their voting rights. We would counter it by moving to the villages and informing locals that if they miss the SIR process, they would be left out.”Party leaders stated that RJD national executive working president and leader of opposition in Bihar Tejashwi Yadav is scheduled to visit Ranchi on April 5, adding that he would interact with the state and district-level party officers. The party also decided to intensify its demand for a caste census in the country.
