Ranchi Police Bust Illegal Arms Syndicate, Five Arrested with Pistols and Ammunition
Ranchi: Five persons were arrested on charges of possessing and attempting to sell illegal arms and ammunition on Saturday late night, police said on Sunday.Kotwali DSP Prakash Soy said, “Acting on inputs, Md Kabeer (38) alias Bablu was arrested from Hindipiri. A 9 mm pistol and 20 rounds of bullets were seized from his possession. He confessed his connection to a gang selling arms to criminals in various areas. He also revealed the names and details of his four associates.”

“Based on Kabeer’s revelations, police carried out raids at Pundag, Namkum, and Sukhdeonagar areas and arrested Shahnawaz Alam, Mohammad Saif of Namkum, Anuj Thakur of Sukhdeonagar, and Ankit Kumar from Bihar. Six pistols, including four country-made pistols, and 110 live cartridges were confiscated from them,” he added.“During interrogation, they confessed that they brought arms from Munger in Bihar for selling those in Ranchi. Investigation is under way,” the DSP added.
