Ranchi: A fire broke out at a renowned bar-cum-hotel in Karamtoli, Ranchi, causing heavy damage to valuables in the early hours of the day. Four fire tenders rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control.
Lalpur police station in-charge Rupesh Kumar Singh said he was passing through the area around 4:30 am when he noticed smoke rising from the hotel. He moved on, but about 10 minutes later, a morning walker known to him called and alerted him about the fire.
Singh said he immediately informed the police control room and fire services. Fire tenders from Audrey House and Piska More reached the spot and doused the flames after two and a half hours.
The exact extent of the damage and the cause of the fire remain unknown, as the owner had not submitted any application till evening.
