Ranchi: Jharkhand will have its own pavilion at the prestigious World Economic Forum in Davos, which will kick off on Monday. The inauguration of the state pavilion will take place on Jan 20 in presence of a high level delegation from the state led by CM Hemant Soren, who have reached for the big ticket meeting.
“This pavilion will be a dedicated platform to present the state's investment potential, policy reforms and long-term development plan. Through this, Jharkhand will try to showcase its journey beyond its mining and industrial identity towards green development, value-added production, responsible resource management and inclusive employment,” a statement from the state IPRD department said on Sunday.
During the trip, Soren will also have a dialogue with several industry leaders such as Tata Steel, Hitachi, Schneider Electric, Infosys, Welspun, AB InBev, Bloomberg, Tech Mahindra, Alfanar, Ramky Group, Everstone Group along with global business councils and institutions from Sweden, America and Europe.
“These meetings will discuss investment opportunities in sustainable industries, green energy, critical minerals, modern infrastructure, digital technology and climate-friendly industrial development," it said.
“The CM will also participate in high-level ministerial dialogues and panel discussions related to India's role in energy transition, regional leadership, large-scale sustainability, critical minerals and robust supply chains.
Jharkhand will highlight how crucial the state govt's role is in managing land, labour, resources and climate change, and how global solutions emerge from the state level," it added.
Jharkhand is participating in this meeting with the vision of "Development in balance with nature". “This approach connects economic development with environmental protection, people's welfare and long-term sustainable development. As a young state that has completed 25 years since its formation, Jharkhand will present itself not just as a mineral-rich state, but as a state creating a development path based on better governance and future needs," said the statement.
