Amit Shah arrived in Assam on Saturday evening, hours after PM Narendra Modi wrapped up his two-day pre-election trip to the state, where BJP is looking to retain office for a third consecutive term, and flew out to Bengal.
Shah, who was received by CM Himanta Biswa Sarma at the Guwahati airport, will discuss strategies for the upcoming elections with senior party functionaries.

He is scheduled to inaugurate the Pragjyotishpur Medical College and Hospital in Guwahati on Sunday morning. He will then attend BJYM convention 'Yuva Shakti Samaroh', which is expected to draw more than one lakh participants. TNN
