Hazaribag admin bans DJ music in Mangla Julus processions
Hazaribag: Deputy commissioner Shashi Prakash Singh on Monday asked senior district officials to ensure supply of uninterrupted power and drinking water along the routes of Mangla Julus processions, which will be taken out on Tuesday.
Singh’s directives came a day after he chaired a review meeting with officials to ensure peace and order during the three Mungla Julus processions, which will be taken out on consecutive Tuesdays beginning Mar 10, ahead of the Ramnavami festivities later this month.
SP Anjani Anjan on Monday surveyed the procession routes and directed officials to depute magistrates in every corner of the town to maintain peace and order. “The district administration is fully prepared for the procession. The use of DJ music is banned during the procession, and all police stations have been asked to keep vigil over it. Social media platforms are also being watched to check for objectionable posts which might create tension during the festival,” SP Anjani Anjan said on Sunday after the meeting. That apart, drones will also be deployed to watch over the processions, the SP said.
Mangla Julus processions will be taken out on three consecutive Tuesdays in the build-up to Ramnavami festivities on Mar 27-28. With Holi festivities having ended, Mahaviri Jhandas are flying off the shelves from shops across the markets of the town.
Ramnavami is observed on a grand scale across the district. Lakhs of devotees take part in the religious processions.
