FIR against 57 for violent protest over Bokaro rape

Petarwar’s circle officer Brajesh Srivastava has lodged an FIR against identified 57 persons and around 100 unidentified people for creating a ruckus on Thursday through demonstrations and blocking the Bokaro-Ramgarh-Ranchi stretch of National Highway-23 at Petarwar Chowk for six hours to protest the rape of a minor girl in the area.

BOKARO: Petarwar’s circle officer Brajesh Srivastava has lodged an FIR against identified 57 persons and around 100 unidentified people for creating a ruckus on Thursday through demonstrations and blocking the Bokaro-Ramgarh-Ranchi stretch of National Highway-23 at Petarwar Chowk for six hours to protest the rape of a minor girl in the area.
Of the 57, two persons have already been arrested and are currently in judicial custody, police said on Saturday.

The duo was identified as Santosh Tiwari, resident of Saharjori of Sialjori and Roshan Sethi, resident of Khatri Tola of Petarwar.
Police said that they are also taking action to recover the damages caused by the culprits to various properties.
The rape survivor is said to be a Class 10 student and belongs to a Scheduled Caste. She was allegedly lured by two youths while returning home from school and was later raped by them on Wednesday. After she fainted, they tried to run away abandoning her at the roadside but were caught by a few locals.
The girl is currently admitted at sadar hospital.
