Hazaribag: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Training Centre & School of the Border Security Force (BSF), Hazaribag, and Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), Ranchi, on Tuesday to establish advanced physiotherapy facilities for local residents. The facility will be set up in the Meru camp of the BSF, 11 km away from Hazaribag city.
A communique issued by the BSF in this regard stated that CCL will provide modern physiotherapy equipment and related medical supplies to the hospital located within the training centre & school premises as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative.
As per govt guidelines, all BSF hospitals are dedicated to providing healthcare services to local residents under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. At present, the hospital within the training centre and school caters to nearly 5,000 patients annually. A large number of these cases involve orthopaedic conditions and related physical complications. “Due to a lack of equipment, many patients are referred to other hospitals. An immediate need was felt for physiotherapy facilities to support orthopaedic patients and those recovering post-surgery," BSF said in a statement.
