Bokaro Class-XI Student Payal Kumari Found Dead Near Usri River

Bokaro: Two days after a Class-XI girl student had reportedly gone missing, her body was found dead near the Usri river under the old bridge at Barganda under the Muffasil police station limits of Giridih on Wednesday, police said.

The deceased was identified as Payal Kumari (17), a resident of Ward No. 12 Sirsia under Muffasil police station. Payal was pursuing her studies while also undergoing tailoring training and tutoring schoolchildren.

Quoting deceased’s father Jageshwar Das, SDPO Jitvahan Oraon said, “Payal left home on Monday morning stating that she was going for computer classes and teaching children in Patel Nagar, as part of her daily routine. She usually returns home around 2 pm. When she did not return, her mother rang her. Payal reportedly said she was leaving after completing tailoring work at a block centre and would reach home in 10 minutes. Another call around 3 pm found her mobile switched off.”

After the family members lodged a missing complaint, police launched a search, checked mobile records and questioned friends. The matter is under investigation, the SDPO added.
