Gujarat: Mother-daughter duo shot at by neighbour in Bhavnagar city

RAJKOT: A woman and her 21-year-old daughter were battling for life after being shot at by their neighbour following a quarrel in Bhavnagar city on Thursday.
The accused Karim Sher Ali Rashiyani picked up a fight with his neighbour Anwar Ali, a rickshaw driver, over the pile of cement and sand kept outside the latter's house for renovation work.
The verbal altercation took a serious turn when Anwar's wife Fareeda (50) and daughter Fariyal (21) intervened to save him from Karim's wrath.Karim rushed inside his house, brought a pistol and shot both women.
Fariyal suffered a bullet wound in the head while her mother was shot near the left eye, said DG Zala, inspector, Gangajalya police station.
"Both women are in a critical condition in Sir T Hospital," he said.
Karim is on the run.
