MP pushes for robotic surgery to cut waiting time in govt hosps
Raipur: Calling for a major technology upgrade in Chhattisgarh's public healthcare system, Raipur MP and senior BJP leader Brijmohan Agrawal has urged the state govt to install robotic surgery systems in major government hospitals and medical colleges. In a letter to chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai and health minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Agrawal said the move could help provide better and timely treatment to patients who depend on state-run hospitals, especially the poor, labourers, farmers and lower- and middle-income families. He flagged long waiting lists for surgeries in govt hospitals as a serious concern, saying limited resources, shortage of specialist doctors and the time taken for conventional operations often force patients to wait for months for their turn.
